Normally it’s quite difficult to get hand on decent outdoor equipment in South East Asia. But in Bangkok I found a place with several (!) shops selling various equipment. The shops are all in the Outdoor Unlimited Zone on the 2nd floor at the Amarin Plaza.  Following shops are there:

The Amarin Plaza can be found right next to the BTS Chitlom Station.

I was also there recently, and had read your post beforehand.
So can I add for other readers:
*Terminal 21 (Asok BTS) there is an Oakley shop with good range of Keen sandals (and a less extensive good range of shoes and boots)
*Decathlon stores (there are 6+ and not so easy to get to. Nearest to tourist Bangkok is a short taxi/ bike ride from Phrom Phong or Klong Toei. Ask to go to the Tesco Lotus Extra at Rama IV.
They stock a wide range of equipment for fishing, cycling, sports, hiking etc. The shoes, bags and clothing is mainly by Quechua. I was quite impressed.

    Hi everyone,

Anyone know if you can get snake gaiters in Bangkok?
